About Bronwen Bonner-Davies

I was born in England, lived in Scotland and Germany, moved to Louisiana when I was 11, went to High School and University in Oklahoma, lived in Seattle and then settled in Los Angeles, where I lived and raised my children for 27 years. I have always been involved with design, so rearranging and decorating homes is one of my true loves. I inherited a passion for bringing a home to life from my mother, who was fearless and wildly creative in each home we owned.

My staging philosophy is that we are selling the home, not the furniture but the right furniture highlights all the positive attributes of each home. I never crowd or over style. I also don’t believe in staging a home in a mundane manner. Life is too short! I like to decorate a home with interesting and inviting pieces of art, but not polarizing pieces. I like to use colors that will give a sense of calm, sophistication and warmth that will instantly put potential buyers at ease.

I love a blank slate, as each home tells a different story, and I try to cater to the buying audience, getting to know who the realtor and home owner feel are the current buyers.

When a home is fully furnished, I start with editing, as the seller will have to do that anyway in order to move. I rearrange art, furnishings, try to remove as many personal photos and unusual pieces that can skew a buyer in the wrong direction. I create as sense of flow in order for home buyers to get a true sense of how each house works. Sometimes this entails selling or storing pieces from the home. The end game is to work with the homeowners to shine the best possible light on their home and to make them feel proud to put it onto the market.

Everyone has a different budget but I also don’t believe in spending a lot on staging. Clean, classic and quality pieces enhance each home that I stage.

I have also had the pleasure to renovate multiple homes. I find a lot of people loathe the construction process, whereas I adore it. I have renovated just bathrooms and kitchens as well as entire rebuilds. I love the collaboration with the architect, contractors, and craftspeople as well as the design details and choosing the tiling, flooring and lighting etc. I like being the liaison between the two parties and have done well keeping both sides calm, as well as heard. I love working within a budget as no one wants to feel financially stressed or bullied. Everyone has their own taste point, so I like to give the homeowners as many options as possible and to pull them out of their comfort zone and to find them interesting pieces that really speak to them. Many times, homeowners are afraid to make a choice so I tell them that they will know it when they see it. They should gasp and fall in love with each item in their home, but the price also has to be right. It’s a balance.

I seek great enjoyment out of organizing any aspect of the home, from closets and pantries to bookshelves and garages. Efficiency is key, as well as style and function. I help home owners edit, repurpose and streamline their daily lives. Decluttering and organizing, with another person, takes away the feeling of being overwhelmed and they are left with law and order in their home.

I look forward to working with you and/or your client. Each job is different and each job sparks my creativity and imagination. Nothing makes me happier than a happy and delighted homeowner!
